Logistics Process Map for Assembly in Mexico
The Supply Chain Leadership Committee (SCLC), the Sandia National Laboratories and the Textile/Clothing Technology Corp. [TC2] have produced a CD-ROM designed to help U.S. companies master the logistical hurdles associated with the transfer of goods across the U.S.-Mexican border. The CD-ROM titled Logistics Process Map for Assembly in Mexico features an interactive modeling program that walks the prospective producer through each stage of the logistics process - from bringing in raw materials to moving finished goods through Mexican and U.S. customs. The CD-ROM also includes an extensive glossary of terms on the subject, including the names of various Mexican and U.S. government agencies involved in the import/export trade. The CD-ROM supports an efficient U.S.-Mexican supply chain, which requires documented adherence to the law at each stage of the manufacturing process. The SCLC's CD-ROM tells you what you need to know.

TALC/SAFLINC Conventions, Voluntary Standards & Implementation Guidelines
(Version 330) The Textile and Apparel Linkage Council (TALC) and the Sundries and Apparel Findings Linkage Council (SAFLINC) have merged into a single organization, (TALC/SAFLINC). A result of this merger is that the conventions and guidelines documents of the two organizations have been combined into one document that can be used by the entire industry. This document contains conventions and voluntary standards for the implementation of electronic data interchange (EDI), product identification, shipping package identification, and several other aspects of the interaction between trading partners. The intention of these conventions and standards is to promote efficiency in the data flow between trading partners and to reduce redundancy in development and implementation. The ultimate goal is to improve the competitive position of the American Textile, Sundries, Findings, and Apparel Industries.
