Intimate Apparel Executive Professional Certificate Program

The Intimate Apparel Executive Professional Certificate Program is designed to provide managers and associates in the intimate apparel industry with a tailored educational program to further their knowledge, improve their skills and provide a recognized and respected credential to advance their careers. The program will be offered in four one-day sessions, scheduled on Friday of market weeks to facilitate participation by out-of-town executives. 

The 2008 program dates and themes are as follows:

May 8 Retailing
August 7 Design/Merchandising
November 6
Manufacturing/Sourcing (incorporating Fabrics & Trims)
February 5, 2009 Sales/Branding/Marketing




Each full-day session will incorporate the following types of presentation:

  • Academic Lectures by FIT faculty
  • Industry Speakers participating individually and on panels
  • Current Case Studies of intimate apparel companies and retailers
  • Break-Out Exercises to encourage dialogue and interaction

The program will be held at the FIT Conference Center, conveniently located at Seventh Avenue and 28th Street in New York City.

Attendee Requirements
In order to register, attendees must be managers or high-potential associates of intimate apparel retailers, manufacturers or supply companies with a minimum of three years of full-time experience.  We anticipate participation by 25 executives per session.

Certificate of Completion
Participants who successfully complete all four sessions, within a three-year time period, will receive an official FIT Certificate of Completion conferring the credential of “Intimate Apparel Professional.”  The program will be administered by the Center for Executive Education at FIT, with advisory support from The Intimate Apparel Council, a division of the American Apparel and Footwear Association.

Non-Members: $2,500 [All four sessions in advance]
