The 2008 awards will benefit K.I.D.S. (Kids In Distressed Situations, Inc.) and Fashion Delivers, two central charities of the apparel industry. Together, these organizations have distributed more than half a billion dollars worth of new merchandise to over 60 million children and families in need and crisis around the country and world.
The ETF will discuss ongoing projects, including the Restricted Substances List (RSL), the best practices list and the environmental auditing project. Open to AAFA members only.
The committee will examine China’s labor contract law – where we are today, discuss the role of input from workers in ensuring compliance, receive an update on the status of U.S. government and Congressional activities on social responsibility affecting our industries, review efforts to develop a factory-level environmental code and address other social responsibility issues affecting the U.S. footwear and apparel industries.
