THE CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY IMPROVEMENT ACT (CPSIA) Federal & State Regulations, Risk Management & Retail Compliance

The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) has been in effect for more than a year now, but the fashion industry is still facing a number of costly issues. Furthermore, industry has to comply with not only the CPSIA, but other state legislation and retailer and brand requirements as well. The one day seminar & exhibition will envelop three sessions and feature morning keynote speaker, Robert S. Adler, Commissioner, Consumer Product Safety Commission. Session I: “State Legislation Panel” will cover California Proposition 65, include a discussion on chemical exposure risks and a review on other state legislation.
Session II: “Supply Chain Risk Management Panel” will cover Education & Training, Tracking & Certification and Product Destruction Options.
Session III: “Retail & Brand Compliance Panel” will review supply chain best practices.
Companies presenting include Baker & McKenzie the Center for Environmental Health, Chemrisk, Greenberg Traurig, Polo Ralph Lauren, New Generation Computing, Strong Environmental (a Stericyle Company), Hot Topic, Sesame Workshop, and True Religion.
The seminar co-moderators are Rebecca Mond and Steve Lamar both AAFA government relation executives. Seminar sponsors are Baker & McKenzie, Greenberg Traurig, New Generation Computing, SGS Consumer Testing Services and TUV SUD America.
